6月11日上午，图书馆报告厅一楼人头攒动，格外热闹。我校剑桥国际高中2013届毕业典礼隆重举行。校长方健文、党委书记郭兆良、副校长兼剑桥项目中心主任夏谷鸣、剑桥中心学术校长Neil Cooper等领导、嘉宾出席典礼。学生处副主任兼剑桥德育主管何诚用英文主持仪式。

毕业典礼既庄重典雅又令人感动，领导及嘉宾的致辞热情洋溢，充满了期待和鼓励，高三毕业班的学子们也借此机会表达了浓浓的感恩之情。

校长方健文教授率先致辞。他首先向圆满完成学业的2013届毕业生表示祝贺，向一直以来辛勤付出的老师和家长致以敬意。方校长指出，自2008年成立以来，我校剑桥高中坚持“以人为本，因材施教”的办学理念，立足于为学生的长远发展创设多元化的平台和路径，取得了良好的教育成效。本届毕业生不仅交出了一份令人满意的升学成绩单，更通过三年来的努力，培养了良好的人文素养、实践能力和创新精神，提升了自身的综合素质。方校长希望同学们再接再厉，做一个“求知若渴、大智若愚”的读书人，夯实知识基础，勇攀科学高峰；做一个先进文化的传播者和建设者，让世界了解中国，让中国走向世界；做一个对国家、对社会有用的人，用自己的智慧和力量回馈社会、报效祖国，真正实现自己的人生价值。

剑桥中心学术校长Neil Cooper先生深情致辞。他回忆了自己来到剑桥高中的第一天，与同学们见面的场景——那时彼此之间不甚了解，怀着紧张而又期待的心情。现在，在经历过共同奋斗、共同进步的时光后，剑桥高中早已像是一个充满关爱的大家庭了。他还引用了史蒂夫·乔布斯的名言来勉励同学们在今后的留学生涯中继续努力：“虽然你现在可能看不见未来，不知道你现在所拥有的、所懂的、所了解的能带你到什么样的境界；但在未来某个时刻，当你蓦然回首时，你才能将所走过的路串起来，懂得你之所以为你，就是你人生的点点滴滴所积累而成的。”

夏谷鸣副校长的致辞颇具深意、发人深省。他引用《论语》中的“君子九思”，希望同学们能够做到“视思明、听思聪、色思温、貌思恭、言思忠、事思敬、疑思问、忿思难、见得思义”，并且仁慈博爱、宽容大气地处世，从容优雅、及时行乐地生活，脚踏实地、力所能及地奋斗。最后，他与同学们分享了三个问题：我要去哪里？我如何到达那里？我怎么知道到了那里？希望大家时时自省，并从此刻开始，明确自己的人生目标，毅然前行。

师生、家长代表的发言同样精彩。外方教师代表Amanda Harris女士的致辞热情洋溢，她希望毕业生们能怀着一颗感恩的心铭记这令人难忘的时刻。中方教师代表兰冲老师在感动之余也建议同学们在今后繁忙的学习生活中不要忘记充实自己的内心世界，寻找自由与幸福。陈子珺同学诚挚地感谢了母校教师对同学们的辛勤栽培与帮助。家长代表肖樱女士也对杭外剑桥高中的教学理念予以高度评价，剑桥高中不仅以美丽的校园环境陪伴学子多年，更以优秀的师资塑造了学生各种良好的品质，发现和培养了学生们的创造能力和批判性思维。

为了表达谢意，学生代表为母校送上了一份书法作品，祝愿母校能够继续“桃李满天下”，希望剑桥中心前程似锦。接着，学校领导向同学们颁发了毕业证书，并向星级学生颁奖。舞台下的闪光灯此起彼伏，笑脸和证书依偎在一起，留在相机的镜头前。

临近尾声，高三学子们还给在座的剑桥高中每一位教师发放了感恩卡，简单的制作凝聚了莘莘学子的赤子之心。与此同时，往日影像出现在大屏幕上，记载了大家一点一滴的青春足迹。这里有师生间的亲密融洽，也有宿管老师、学校保安、收发室工作人员、后勤公司管理人员、超市售货员等日常忙碌的身影。这些温馨的一幕幕就发生在过去的三年中，如今回想起来让人默默动容。感恩才是少年们对母校最好的礼物，也是他们走向成熟的必修课。

分享完那些点滴细节之后，每个任课老师还以自己的方式作了一句话发言，希望在最后的时刻给彼此留下美好和温馨。师生的情感交流在此时达到顶点，很多人听着说着不禁红了双眼。这些珍贵的泪水有父母的欣慰和骄傲，有同学的不舍和留恋，更有老师们的幸福嘱托。

以世界为媒，以天涯海角为路，踏上并远离了高中的青石阶，俯看那无尽的阶梯，方觉这漫长的路已在分秒间抵达了终点，收入眼底，望此后各自珍重，勿忘母校。

尊敬的各位家长、各位老师，亲爱的同学们：

大家上午好！

今天，我们在这里隆重举行剑桥高中2013届毕业典礼。首先，我谨代表学校，对圆满完成学业的全体毕业生表示最热烈的祝贺！向为培养学生付出辛勤劳动的全体中、外方教师致以最崇高的敬意！向一直以来关心和支持我校工作的各位家长表示最衷心的感谢！

举办剑桥高中，是我校推进教育教学改革、强化外语办学特色、培养国际化复合型人才的重要举措。自2008年成立以来，我校剑桥高中坚持“以人为本，因材施教”的办学理念，立足于为学生的长远发展创设多元化的平台和路径，取得了良好的教育成效。两百余名毕业生100%成功入读海外大学，历年全球统考成绩均位列同类学校前茅。

同学们，你们即将离开母校，远赴海外深造。在此，我想提几点希望和要求，与大家共勉。

首先，要多读书、多学习。“书籍是人类进步的阶梯。”希望你们把在杭外养成的良好的阅读习惯，带到大学，带到以后的工作中去。国外有着先进的教育理念和丰富的教育资源，希望你们好好珍惜自己的求学机会，做一个“求知若渴、大智若愚”的读书人，夯实知识基础，勇攀科学高峰。

第二，要做先进文化的传播者和建设者。“海纳百川，有容乃大。”在世界的舞台上，你们要主动融入新的文化、乐于接受新的事物，吸收国外先进文化为我所用，不断丰富自己的人生阅历。同时，要积极弘扬民族文化，让世界了解中国，让中国走向世界。

第三，要成为对国家、对社会有用的人。“大学之道在明明德，在亲民，在止于至善。”你们不仅要独善其身，更要兼济天下。你们是祖国未来的建设者和接班人，要牢记自己的责任与使命，用自己的智慧和力量回馈社会、报效祖国，真正实现自己的人生价值。

同学们，再次祝福你们。一个人在国外，记得要好好照顾自己，多跟父母、老师和同学联系，有时间的话，一定要常回母校看看。

方校长，郭书记、Mr Neil Cooper、同学们、老师们、家长们：

早上好！

今天是一个重要日子，因为今天是2013届杭州外国语学校剑桥国际高中实验班110位同学毕业的日子。同学们将在杭外渡过最后的一天，一生的中学阶段就此划上了句号，与此相衔接的大学生涯就要开始了。老师们就像大家人生旅途中的司机，把你们送到了一段旅程的终点站，转车或转机，你们走向另一段路程。家长们更辛苦，你们的任务还没完，因为还要为孩子们下一路程埋单。好在中学路程物有所值，孩子们还争气。为此，趁我还有话语权的此刻，向同学们表示祝贺，祝贺大家毕业了！向包括我自己在内的全体老师，特别是Mr Neil Cooper，表示感谢，感谢你们（或我们）这一路车程的艰辛和努力，把学生们平安地送到站！向家长们表示敬佩，敬佩大家无私的奉献、执着的关爱，心伴他们而行，眼看他们成长。

今天是一个普通的日子，时光照旧，空间不变，天还是那样，人仍旧这样。大家遵守人类社会的游戏规则，聚在一起，给与一个专有词：毕业典礼。委屈了同学们、老师们和家长们，把大家约束在座椅上，视听一人的讲演；更委屈我自己，站在台上，扮演那个人。既站之，则演之，跟在座的同学们说几句。

第一句话：要战战兢兢、如履薄冰地做人。几年前，我大舅，孔子第75代嫡长孙孔祥楷先生，送我一本《论语》，在扉页上用小楷摘录了孔子在《论语·季氏篇第十六》中说的君子九思。今天引来与大家共勉。孔子曰：“君子有九思：视思明，听思聪，色思温，貌思恭，言思忠，事思敬，疑思问，忿思难，见得思义”。

视思明：观察事物，要正、反、前、后、上、下、是、非每个角度都要去观察思考，只有这样才能彻底明白。

听思聪：不论听到什么，都不可人云亦云，要以自己的智慧去判断，去取舍。要听逆耳之言，要听远方之言，逆耳之言可以省思，远方之言可以攻错。

色思温：子夏问孝，孔子答曰：“色难”。色，就是脸色，一个人的脸色，代表一个人的内心情感。面对着他人，自己的脸色，是和蔼可亲！还是拒人于千里！是不急不缓，还是烦躁不安！色思温，温者不冷不热，恰如其分。

貌思恭：貌者就是一个人的仪容、仪态。无论是言谈、服装、态度、在任何场合，要给对方一种要谦虚、恭敬，尊重的感觉。

言思忠：要学会说话，懂得说话，什么时候该说话，什么时候该说什么话。要言行一致，自己的话要对自己的心忠诚，自己的话要对自己的行为忠诚。

事思敬：事无大小，也无贵贱，做好一件事，做完一件事，就是敬业。

疑思问：学问之广之大，无人能通晓。知之为知之，不知为不知，不知就问，不可以得过且过，混过日子。

忿思难：当怒火满腔，将要暴发时，要想一想如果你的怒气发完之后，会有什么后果，以免招祸。

见得思义：面对垂手可得的利益时，应该最先想起“义”字。义者，适不适宜，正不正当，合不合理之谓。适宜、正当、合理，得之可也。

第二句话：要仁慈博爱、宽容大气地处世。天台国清寺唐代有僧人寒山和拾得，后去苏州妙利普胆塔院任住持，该院后因此而改名为寒山寺。寒山和拾得相见如故，情同手足，在佛学、文学上的造诣很深，他俩常一起吟诗作对。我国民间珍视他俩的情谊，便把他俩推崇为和睦友爱的民间爱神。我引用他们在《古尊宿语录》中的一段问答与大家共勉：

寒山问曰：世间有人谤我、欺我、辱我、笑我、轻我、贱我、恶我、骗我，该如何处之乎？

拾得答曰：只需忍他、让他、由他、避他、耐他、敬他、不要理他、再待几年，你且看他。

第三句话：要从容优雅、及时行乐地生活。我读过一本书，是章饴和写的《往事并不如烟》。书中她有一段描写康有为之女康同璧的文字，形容她为中国“最后的贵族”，暗花旗袍、圆发髻、恪守老式礼仪、至死不忘风雅的生活。这令我想起我的外婆。在我小时候的记忆中，外婆永远是那个气质模样，即使在家境落难时期或文革动乱年代：纹丝不乱的发型，整洁得体的着装，手挽相配的小包。我提起这些，并不是要同学们以此为样板，而是希望大家无论在何时何地何种处境，都要有乐观积极的生活态度。古拉丁语有这么一个词：carpe diem，意思是活在当下、及时行乐，过好每一天。每天的生活离不开衣、食、住、行，所以：

在异国他乡，要学会做一个或几个中餐佳肴，与人分享；要学会品尝西餐美味，体验异族饮食。累了，沏一杯中国茶，但别忘了倒掉第一泡茶；困了，磨一杯espresso，但别忘了滴上几滴白兰地。不抽烟、不酗酒，以此消耗生命，不值。

在异国他乡，要学会区别正装与休闲服。服饰不只是保暖遮羞，服饰还是一种符号，代表你的身份、品味和素养，传递丰富的信息。在正式场合，穿出你的修养，注意上下搭配，男生小心你们的鞋袜，女生留意你们的妆容；在休闲时刻，穿出你们的个性，美而不奇，靓而不艳。

在异国他乡，要学会营造自己私人空间，一张床、一张书桌、一间小窝都是你们每日的归宿，在那里可以做你们自己的梦、思念你们的父母，可以放松，也可以放肆，但别忘了时不时地来一段巴赫衬托气氛。住不在如何豪华奢侈，而是在于舒适温馨。

在异国他乡，不但要读万卷书，还要行万里路，走遍千山万水，看遍风土人情。杭外剑桥中心曾经有位英语老师在美国工作期间，利用暑期，背上一袋口粮，日行灰狗大巴，夜宿青年旅社，走遍一半美国，大大丰富了自己的阅历。学生们，别老是国人扎堆、校友作伴，要敢于走出华人圈，融入异族文化。

第四句话：要脚踏实地、力所能及地奋斗。任何风雅的生活不是天上掉下来的，而是依靠自己努力奋斗创造的。也许父母亲已经为你们准备了四年学习生活的费用，但这只是你们今后学业、职业和事业的启动资金。你们要利用这笔资金，积蓄自己的能量、自己的智慧和自己的制造力。请大家自问三个问题：1）我要去哪里？这是你的目标；2）我如何到达那里？这是你的行动方式和过程；3）我怎么知道到了那里？这是你的自我评价和反思。

确定人生各阶段目标，不要胸无大志，也切忌想入非非。量力而行是基本的原则，你们的目标高于你们力所能及的一公分，大志就在于此。

凡事都要从今天做起，明天复明天，明天永远不会到来的。起床闹钟拨快一刻钟。起床后，整理心情，破冰热身，是成功的开始。学习中，别忘了伸个懒腰，起个身，换个坐姿，喝杯茶。劳逸结合，张弛有度，是前进的动力。就寝时，多数进账，少后悔，清楚自己今天走到哪里，明确下一个“今天”的应该怎么度过。然后，别忘将起床的闹钟拨快一刻钟。人与人之间的差别，最小的是智力，最大的是毅力。

老生常谈，讲多了，大家听乏了，我也站累了。帷幕快落下，主角将退去，一台戏要谢幕了。其实一切都是自然，学生们将有新的舞台，上演新的一出戏；老师们也会搭起再一个戏台子，引来又一批主角；家长们像似舞台灯光，将继续聚焦在心中的主角——你们永远的孩子，我们曾经的学生。但是，三年来我们毕竟聚在一起，“好”过一场。同学们，你们在异国他乡，走南闯北，但归途不变，母校不变。讲完了，谢谢大家！

Good Evening Guests, Principal Fung, Shakle, Teaching Staff, Parents and last but not least Graduates of Hangzhou Foreign language School.

So here we are you all made it!

A graduation ceremony is always such a special occasion - the culmination of years of hard work; the actualization of goals attained and the acknowledgement of successes achieved. So, it is only fitting that today we commemorate the road that you have all travelled together these last few years.

It has been a journey that started with tentative steps perhaps, but one that has taken us to remarkable heights. We have encountered some trials and tribulations along the way...soldiered on and come out the stronger for them. We have experienced exceptional moments, magical moments and created memories that will be fondly remembered in the years ahead.

Henry Ford wisely said, 'Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress and working together is success.' As we look back over the last few years, certainly there was a beginning, and thankfully there was also progress and yes - undeniably we have been successful!

But let's begin where all good stories begin - at the beginning!

I can forget when we all came together for the first time this year - apprehensive students all assembled in 5116,all wondering what the New Principal would be like and what the year would bring. What a commencement ceremony it was, signalling what would be the start of wonderful things to come. Yes, we all came together with a common purpose in mind - to encourage and develop lifelong learning in the young Ladies and Gentlemen who sit before us this evening.

Steadfast, resolute and determined we all kept together. Day-by-day we focused on our goal, keeping together and working together. We faced some incredible and memorable moments – moments that we chose to use as stepping stone as we tenaciously pursued our common goals. And what progress we made, as just a few of the following highlights attest to:

Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Dancing with the Teachers, Film Night, Drama Festival, Live Theatre, Sporting Events in Football Basketball, Space Settlement Project, As Ice iPhone app to name but a few.

And yes like any family we argued, we fought, we discussed but we respected each other. And I would like to feel that you are leaving us having felt that as a staff we were approachable and there to help.

The end result Ladies and Gentlemen of our coming together, keeping together and working together, in spite of the obstacles that we may have faced along the way... that end result is the Graduating Class of 2013 My, how proud we are of the success that they have made with the opportunities that they were offered. Congratulations, we are very proud of you all!

You are ready, willing and more than able to grasp the torch that we bestow upon you- yours is the future and on you the world will come to depend.

May your years ahead continue to be characterized by empathy, compassion, objectivity and a willingness to take risks.

May you always lead by example and work hard and play straight.

May your successes be many and your tribulations are few and far between.

Finally to quote Steve Jobs,

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

I wish you everything that you so richly deserve in the years ahead - it has been an honor and a privilege watching your progress and success!

Good morning, I am very honored to be asked to speak on the day of your graduation. Thank you for that honor. As many of you know, I like to begin lessons and activities with a quote. Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw once said ‘Youth is wasted on the young’. ‘Youth is wasted on the young’. ‘youth is wasted on the young.’  I sincerely hope not….

I would like to address this to the students – look around you, you are surrounded by family, friends, teachers, tutors – all here celebrating you. This is one of the few opportunities in life where the people you are closest to, celebrate just you. My advice is to make the most of it.

Graduating from high school is an amazing moment; some call it an end of an era, some a rite of passage, some people see it as a lifelong goal being reached and some as a step into the future. However you see it, hold on to it – remember this moment for the rest of your life.

I have only been with Hangzhou Foreign Language School this academic year but it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know and teach you. You are the most incredible students I have met in my career. I doubt I am alone in feeling that.

I feel I have so much to tell you; information about university, knowledge about foreign countries, advice about life – I am sure all staff feel the same way – we could tell you all the stories from our own youth and guide you through life with warnings and advice - but we have to resist being too prescriptive  -we know you have to experience it for yourself. The main message from all of is to work hard and play hard. All we ask is for you to be in touch from time to time.

Leaving high school is a big event in anyone’s life. 18+ years of academic study has come to an end and you are about to enter a brand new world; it is exciting and scary at the same time. Students from all over the globe who are going to university feel this; students from the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Africa are all afraid and excited for this day –but for you – it’s even bigger. You are not just enrolling in university, moving to a new city or beginning your adult life, most of you are crossing oceans to get there. Incredible. Today marks the first day of the rest of your lives.

I am going to ask all of you to look around the room again… look at the people celebrating your achievement. Professor Fang, our centre director Mr. Xia and of course our centre principal Mr. Cooper are sat here hoping that you will blossom into mature students and continue to be good ambassadors for the school as so many before you have.  Parents sat amongst us are highly emotional – full of pride, joy, sadness, excitement – they want you to be independent and strong, academic and popular, hard- working and fulfilled, I imagine they want everything that you want for yourselves and more. Today means an awful lot to them too.

I can see emotional tutors in the room; they have been with you from day one- can you remember? Think back to your first day here. Do you remember feeling nervous? Excited? Think about your first year here; Can you remember being well dressed? Can you remember doing what you were told? Can you remember doing all of your homework? I bet it feels like a long time ago?

You are also surrounded by your subject teachers. Your teachers are sat proudly; hoping for excellent grades in August and even better futures for you. If we are being totally honest, many teachers can’t wait to get rid of you – I am sure you’ll agree - year 3 are law unto themselves

In all seriousness there isn’t an adult in this room that is not looking at you with pride, delight, nostalgia, perhaps even a little envy? Most of all, we are looking at you with hope. We hope you make the most of your time after graduation.

Back to what George Bernard Shaw said – ‘youth is wasted on the young’.  Youth doesn’t last forever- don’t let it be wasted on you.

On behalf of all of the staff at the CAL centre and from the bottom of my heart – good luck to all of you. Make us proud.

尊敬的领导、老师，亲爱的家长，同学们，大家上午好！

还记得三年前的九月，我作为新加入剑桥中心的老师，在新入学的你们面前做自我介绍时的心情：激动，还有期待。三年后的今天，我作为班主任代表站在这里，依然十分激动，并满怀期待。

共同走过的三年，也是我们共同成长的三年，现在你们即将毕业，相信在座的每一位都同我一样，怀着一份激动的心情。

三年里，我看到你们为学业全力以赴，面对各类重大考试，你们相互帮助，相互鼓励，锲而不舍，共度难关；三年里，我看到你们始终满怀热情，积极参与各类活动，从入学的军训，到每年的运动会、艺术节、英语节等，还有我们中心特有的万圣节、感恩节等等，此外，你们还利用课余时间走出校园，积极参加社会公益活动，自发开展志愿者活动；三年来，你们充分发挥自己的英语特长，多次代表学校站在全国乃至国际大舞台上，在辩论、模联等多项活动中取得了优异的成绩……三年的学习与磨练，你们丰富了知识，提高了能力，收获了友谊，成熟了思想。每位同学都已对自己的未来有了初步的规划，正充满信心的准备踏上人生的新起点。

离别在即，我同你们一样对未来充满期待，很想借此机会，对你们讲一讲我内心的想法。

一是希望你们多读书，安心做学问，不要急于求成。高中三年里，不少同学很辛苦的忙于应付各类考试。诚然，优秀的考试成绩在某种程度上能证明自己，为你赢得一些机会。但过多着眼于各种资格考试、能力考试会让你忽视自己的内心世界。内心干涸的人，再优秀，充其量也只是世界大工厂强制运转的一个零部件。而阅读，旅行，思考，做学问却能让我们很好的与自己对话，与自然对话，与社会对话，保持内心的自由与丰富。我相信内心的自由与丰富才是通往幸福的道路，也因此会产生强大的持久的前进动力。

二是希望你们更多的关注我们的社会。走的越多，看的越多，思考的越多，我相信每个人心里都会构想一个更加和谐美好的世界。不论我们身在何处，希望我们的同学不仅为个人成功奋斗，同时也要为成为更美好世界的公民担当起自己的一份责任。

三是希望你们保持平常心。身处顺境，要乘风破浪，面临困境，不自暴自弃；有抱负有担当，拥有爱和宽容；懂得感恩，懂得释怀，懂得取舍，希望你们在未来的日子里拥有快乐和从容。

最后，再次表达我对你们的感谢，感谢我们一起走过的美好时光，并衷心祝福你们！谢谢！

尊敬的方校长、郭书记、夏校长、Cooper校长，尊敬的各位老师，各位家长、各位同学，上午好！

今天是一个激动人心的日子，是一个值得隆重庆祝、永远珍藏的日子。刚才走进礼堂，看到背景墙上的毕业典礼的横幅，我才真切有了“吾家有女初长成”的感悟。

前几天接到学校电话，说让我代表学生家长在毕业典礼上发言，我很意外，因为我的孩子在杭外剑桥高中是属于很普通、很平凡的的孩子，学业成绩、最终升学学校比她优秀的孩子有很多，让我做代表来发言感到不太合适。但仔细想来，其实让我这样一个普通孩子的家长来发言，正是体现了杭外剑桥高中的办学宗旨：平等地尊重和关注每一位学生的全面成长。

杭外剑桥高中的办学理念，让我们的孩子摆脱成为“做题机器”、摆脱普通高中的排名之累；杭外剑桥高中的办学体系，让我们的孩子可以根据兴趣、扬长避短，适度选择适合自己的学科；杭外剑桥高中的办学风格，让我们的孩子可以在课堂上各抒己见，讨论争执。所以我要感谢杭外剑桥高中，给了孩子们一段快乐而自信的高中生活。

杭外剑桥高中的全英文授课，让孩子们具备了一定的英语基础；杭外剑桥高中形式多样的教学方式，相信也让孩子们能很快适应海外大学的学习；杭外剑桥高中的海外教学团队，让孩子们零距离接触了丰富多彩的异国文化，拓展了一定的国际视野。所以我还要感谢杭外剑桥高中，给孩子们奠定了海外求学深造的良好基础。

在杭外剑桥高中，孩子们不仅在学业上成绩丰硕，更重要的是学会了懂得做人做事。我的孩子能有组织同学去淳安支教；能定期资助贫困山区的孩子；能有机会成为美国中学生“汉语桥”夏令营的志愿者；更能有信心在老师的指导下，依靠自己的能力完成升学申请。我不是想说我的孩子多么出色，而是想说，如果我的孩子是在国内教育体系的高中上学，是很难想象有这样的理念、这样的环境和这样充裕的时间来做这些在她的人生成长中远比学业更重要的事的。所以我更要感谢杭外剑桥高中，给了孩子们一个心智健康成长的时间和空间。

今天是6月11日，几天前的7-9日是国内高考的日子。此时此刻有许多我孩子的同龄人，他们全家都在期盼与煎熬中等待高考的消息。可是现在在座的孩子们却早早都收到了世界各地优质大学的录取通知书。我很庆幸，在杭州、在我们身边，有一个杭外剑桥高中这样与国际接轨的教育模式；我更庆幸，我的孩子能进入杭外剑桥高中，接受国际上最优质的教育，从而能抢先站在一个良好的人生起跑线上。可以说，选择杭外剑桥高中这种崭新的教育体系，就是获得一种崭新的人生机会。

同学们，今天不仅是你们高中的毕业典礼，更是同学们奔赴海外求学的壮行会。在同学们羽翼渐渐丰满，即将跨入大学、融入社会之际，作为一名家长在欣喜的看到你们成长的同时，更希望看到你们承载着老师和家长的期盼，带着自信和拼搏上路，在异国他乡，努力求学洞悉世界，乐观平和踏实做人，成为一个有智慧、有仁爱、有担当的国际公民。

最后，再次感谢杭外剑桥高中老师们一直以来默默耕耘的辛勤培育！感谢老师们一直以来润物细无声的无私奉献！

Good morning everyone, all the honorable guests, teachers, students and our dearest parents.

When I received this honor to be the representative, I was glad but when preparing, I spent four days without writing a single word. Though with plenty of words to say, I lacked a start to express. That made me to think how important a start is. I still remember the first day that we came here. But later, I thought the three years we lived in A-level Centre can be considered as a whole concept of a start, of a transformative process to adult life, to step into the world and to face challenges.

During the three years, things changed. Once, a friend of mine asked me whether change itself is conducive. Sounds confusing. Normally, people will take account of the consequences that it leads. But based on my instinct, I answered probably yes. And now, I confirm this answer. Change, no matter with a good result or a bad, represents a possibility of improvements. And I think, coming here, coming to A-level Centre is a catalyst of making changes. There are physical changes. We grow taller. Boys become more handsome, and girls more beautiful.

There are also chemical changes, or say on spiritual level.

We have freedom here. Freedom, from the basic level, means doing anything you want, without doing harm to others. But people who follow blindly, don't have freedom; people who are too timid to take actions, don't have freedom either. Freedom is for people who knows what they want and dare to apply . Here we learn to pursue this right.  If we were asked the question which major you are going to take in the university, three years ago, many of us might answer, I don't know. But now, all of us have made our own choices, maybe it is still an 'undecided' one, maybe it is immature, or maybe it lacks multi-lateral consideration. But at least, we realise the freedom of choice and start to make decisions.

Besides, we become more responsible. Through the activities we take part in, which need cooperative work, such as parliamentary debate, habitat for humanity, and work in television station of CAL Centre, we learn to act positively and properly in our own positions. From another aspect, the questions we consider change. Years ago, we were considering 99 is a better score than 98, which strategy can be applied in the game, and which concert is worth going. And now, though we're still thinking about some of these questions, especially the latter two, we have been already facing a bigger plan about our life.

Also, we become more independent. Through the application season, we understand what independent thinking is. With reconsidering the four questions that Mr. Xia raised in the first meeting three years ago: 'who am I; where am I from; where am I going; what am I going to do', we try to cultivate our own ideology and present it into a paper work. In addition, we are now adept in organizing things, making schedules, working efficiently, and staying healthy.

These changes, and I dare to describe them as achievements, definitely cannot be achieved merely by ourselves. There are many people we want to say thanks to. First, thanks to the whole A-level Centre, which provides us with opportunities to meet the world, and to receive a different style of education with plenty of possibilities. Then, thanks to our centre principal, Mr. Cooper with inspiring speech every Monday, Mr. Xia, for the four questions, which are just like the engine of Noah's Ark. Thanks to our tutors, Miss Lan, Mr. Zheng, Miss Zhao, and Mr. Cai. Thank you for your diligent work.

Thanks to all the foreign teachers.

Mrs. Harris, who can perform Blanche vividly and prepare model answers for students.

Mr. Eason, who knows literature well and organizes to watch movies every month.

Mr. Mendelson, who plays basketball well and lend interesting fictions to students.

Dr. Steinbuch, who teaches students philosophy and congratulations on the honor of entering the world congress.

Mr. Arnold, who plays football well and discusses difficult questions with students after class.

Mr. Taylor, who is humor and helps students to prepare for the interviews after class.

Mr. Gurung, whose class is interesting and he provides students with extra materials.

Mr. Cumin, who shows students useful video clips of economics and always writes tips on the whiteboard.

Ms. Murray, who is so sweet and helpful, making piles of revision materials neatly and tidily and always coming to the classrooms to answer questions.

Mr. Fawcett, who comes very early, goes home quite late and answers questions even in the evening before the exam.

Mr. Mackenzie, whose concert teaches us the meaning of enjoying life, who is also knowledgeable in different areas and helps students a lot.

Mr. Exelby, who organizes the astronomy club and brings many talented projects.

Mr. Weir, who discusses chemistry questions in depth with students after class and collects materials for students.

Mr. Duffield, whose enthusiasm inspires students to learn and encourages them to look for the interest in subjects.

Mr. Gerrard, who plays movies related to biology and all the students are captured by them as well as his class.

Next, we all thank to the Chinese teachers who are the teachers of enlightenment as they taught the subjects in the first year when we came here, as well as two extra curriculum, German and French.

Thanks to our councillors who paid great efforts during the application season. It's not merely writing papers and preparing materials but a crucial transformation. Thank you for guiding us through this period.

Thanks to all the staff working in A-level Centre. We really appreciate your work.

Finally, the greatest appreciation is given to our parents, which I wish to speak in Chinese.

最后一点感谢， 我希望用中文来表达。非常感谢父母给我们来剑桥高中并且出国的机会，这对于大部分家庭而言是可望不可及的。感谢你们理解我们，鼓励我们，并且支持我们的决定。真心，真心地感谢。

In the end, I have some expectations to share.

Be positive and brave.

Be independent and responsible.

Be compassionate and, be happy.
