9月14日上午，新一届日本立命馆亚洲太平洋大学（简称APU）预科班的全体同学参加了在1312室举行的开班仪式。副校长夏谷鸣、学生处主任章晓红、外事处副主任王泉林以及APU招生部部长近藤教授、招生部庞志达先生出席了此次仪式。

首先，夏副校长向同学们提出了四点要求：learn to know; learn to do; learn to live together; learn to be。他希望同学们在充实与提升自我的同时，注重跨文化的交流，做到理解、包容、尊重，学会批判性地思考问题。在明确自身目标、实现自我价值的同时，充分认识社会的需求，为迎接未来的机遇与挑战做好充分准备。最后，夏副校长鼓励同学们在今后的一年中夯实日语和英语的基础，为在外留学创造一个良好的开端。随后，近藤教授简要介绍了APU的办学情况。他指出，留学APU，并非只是踏入日本国界，而是走向全世界，以一个世界公民的姿态来承担自己的责任。

学生代表金昱同学发言。流利的英语表达了APU班学生的勤奋；优美的语句体现了APU班学生的智慧；灿烂的笑容展示了APU班学生的自信。我们用自己的实际行动证明自己的实力，同时也承诺在未来将坚持不懈——不为其他，谨以理想为名。而之后学长、学姐的介绍更是提醒了我们留学的道路才刚刚开始。

开班仪式结束后，近藤教授就“全球化”话题开设了一场精彩的讲座。近藤教授指出，随着科技的迅猛发展，我们受全球化的影响将进一步凸显。我们充分意识到作为一名“世界公民”，包容是极其重要的，如尊重宗教不同、注重民族差异、理解各国文化，等等。此外，拥有创新的意识、批判的意识都将在未来的留学和工作中起到很大的作用。最后，同学们与近藤教授作了面对面的交流。在近藤教授的介绍下，我们对于未来四年的留学生活充满了期待和向往。

附金昱同学发言稿

Good morning, dear teachers and my fellow students.

After a long summer vacation, we have entered a new semester with new feelings and targets. Today, we’re here to hold an opening ceremony, denoting that a new page of our life has already turned. I’m privileged to be here today welcoming our teachers from APU. First of all, on behalf of new APU students, we feel really honored that our distinguished teachers can share this exciting moment with us.

Having made great efforts, we finally achieve our goals, becoming a member of APU. Undoubtedly, APU is a really excellent university with strong study and research atmosphere. It provides a truly international environment, offering an exceedingly incredible platform for students to have a better understanding of the cultures in the world nowadays and provides us with different exchange programs to broaden our horizon. In one word, students in APU can be given numerous chances and we can achieve our dreams there.

However, chance favors the prepared mind. Therefore, in order to catch the opportunities we want, we should make ourselves prepared. All of us have a lot on our plates.

Goethe said: "In all born with natural gifts, time is most precious. As APU students, we feel so lucky because we don’t have to prepare for the National College Entrance Examination like other students, that is to say, we have more disposable time instead. So, how to make most use of this year is very essential. Here are some of my personal opinions about what we should do in this crucial year.

To begin with, we should have our own clear and definite aims and make reasonable arrangements schedule, making sure that every day will be substantial. Since undergraduate programs in APU are in both English and Japanese, we should focus mainly on these two languages’ learning at present, ensuring there will be enough time spent on them so that when we go to Japan, we won’t be puzzled by language barriers. Meanwhile, we should pay more attention to the Chinese cultures for we’re going to study in an international university. To understand and learn other cultures well, we should know more about our own cultures first.

Secondly, we should read more books, read useful books. There’s no doubt that books can cultivate our own sentiments and expand our knowledge. A good book will enable us to get knowledge, improve our personal qualities, and enhance our personality. And of course, we could do some preview or read relevant books and other materials about the subjects we want to study in APU. It may offer much help for our later study.

What’s more, it is also crucial to develop our own interests so that we can become overall talents. APU has lots of extra-curricular activities. Only if we make ourselves more outstanding, can we get the chances to be the shining stars on that stage.

Finally, I want to stress the importance of self-determination, because we’re the controllers of our own destinies.

No matter how excellent jobs we’ve done before, it has already been the past. But this year is a new start. It will be a very challenging and promising year for us. We must stand higher, see further, do better and try hard to create new brilliant achievements.

I believe that every student here will make persistent efforts and strive for further improvements.

Today, we’re so proud because we’re going to be an APU student. We sincerely hope that after five years, APU will be proud of us.
