Netting the globe, reaching the heart——记初三年级Casio杯英语演讲比赛

5月25日下午，作为英语节的尾声，初二、初三的同学们在3117观看了一场精彩的Casio杯英语演讲比赛（原徐梅英语演讲比赛）。

经过年段考核，共有8名初三选手参加了本次比赛。本次演讲比赛的题目为：A day without internet，在这个日益被科技占领的时代，这个话题虽然被提起过多次，却仍然需要我们的思考。八位同学的演讲有的幽默风趣，有的热情洋溢，也有的淡定自若，同学出色的演讲及回答评委问题时的随机应变博得了全场的掌声。张晨曦同学更是以穿越的角度为我们讲述了他在唐朝经历的a day without internet，新颖的创意和流利的即兴回答给人留下了深刻印象。8位选手都提到了internet带给我们的方便快捷，同时也指出了网络的一些弊端。他们运用了生活中的例子向我们娓娓道来网络的优缺点，并用鲜明的逻辑和生动的比喻明确展示了他们的观念。尽管主题各不相同，但选手们都指出：在互联网为我们的交流带来极大便利的同时，我们仍然需要保留对一切事物最原始的质朴情感。The internet helps us to net the globe, but meanwhile, we should use our sincerity to reach people’s hearts.

最后，本次演讲比赛以袁清怡与张晨曦两位同学夺得Casio奖杯落幕。

演讲比赛之间，初三同学还带来了三个颇具动感的歌舞表演。由初三2,4,7班带来的街舞《Addicted》，初三7班带来的《Lollipop》和初三8班带来的《Run this town》都赢得了阵阵掌声。

A day without internet, 在没有网络的一天里，我们会失去许多的信息来源，会怀念互联网带给我们的种种便利，但，看看窗外的那一抹纯净的绿色，是否也感触颇多呢？相信通过这次演讲比赛，我们对于互联网的使用、对于英语学习都有了更进一步的认识。

玩转英语，秀出自我——记初一年级外语文化节电影配音比赛

5月25日上午，还没有从前一晚绚烂而梦幻的戏剧之夜中醒来的我们，又迎来了属于我们年级自己的英文电影配音比赛。从初一进校我们就开始并坚持了每两周一部电影配音的视听课。通过一年的训练，大家对于电影配音积淀了浓厚的兴趣，对于如何用优美的英语来诠释电影里的人物和情节也有了些许认识和感受。因此对于这次年级的电影配音比赛，大家都摩拳擦掌，枕戈待旦。

赛前，通过第一轮班级内部选拔，最终每个班级有三个配音片段入围最后的年级决赛。面对最后的较量，大家勤加练习，精心准备，等待最后一刻精彩呈现。

果然上了战场才发现高手如云，竞争激烈！大家优美的语音语调，全情的投入和深情的演绎，让我们共同欣赏了一幕幕或伤感动人，或紧张激动，或可爱懵懂的电影片段。大家感慨之余，也突然发现一年来自己的英语精进不少，不免偷偷为之欣喜。

12个参赛队伍各有千秋，异彩纷呈，给大家留下了深刻的印象。其中每个班都有自己抢眼之作。初一（1）班同学用娴熟而俏皮的英语演绎了“花木兰”的经典和顽皮。初一（2）班同学在“里约大冒险”中激情的表演，载歌载舞，生动地勾勒出一幅巴西风情的画面。初一（4）班“查理的巧克力工厂”里可爱的巧克力娃娃和欢乐而流畅的歌声久久在赛场回荡。而最终披荆斩棘，力挫群雄获得年级一等奖的初一（3）班带来的“乐高机器人星球大战”更是此次比赛的亮点。该组同学显然是胸有成竹，即便在影片中出现混乱和复杂的打斗场面，他们还是有条不紊，拿捏有度。

每一位参与者都是聚精会神，每一个停顿、每一个单词、每一个发音都一丝不苟，大家为他们的认真和投入而喝彩，更为他们生动的表演和精彩的英语而喝彩！在此起彼伏的感慨和掌声中我们度过了来杭外的第一个快乐而难忘的外语节。

现在，2012年的外语节已经结束，我们又开始憧憬来年的精彩，但我们的英语学习还在继续。电影配音是我们学习英语、提高口语的一个很好的途径，我们要以此为平台，在今后的英语学习中更加积极地投入，更加热情地参与，在杭外的大舞台上提升自我，绽放青春！

Acting the World，Literature in Mind——记初二年级经典英文电影表演比赛

从4月27 日开始，大家就对我们年级英语节活动“Literature In Mind”（经典英文电影表演比赛）充满期待。

从节目商定直至5月25日上午空前精彩的英语盛宴，初二年级全体师生都took part in it—worked on it—took great delights from it。所有人都一样，乐在忙碌之中。

比赛前，工作人员的会议大大小小地开了数场。会议一完，各部门负责人就像离弦的箭冲向英语办公室，又开始一项项新工作。那几天的大小教室、办公室甚至是走廊都变成了“战斗”的前线。整个初二，变成了一个“Literature In Mind”的“colony”!

下面是Literature In Mind 当天的情况：

上午7点：工作人员陆续到场布置场地，跑前跑后只为没有差错。

8点：若干组演出人员到场进行最后一次排练，定格终极造型。

8点20分：嘉宾、评委、老师和同学进入会场。

8点30分：主持人面带微笑出现在舞台上时，我们的活动拉开了序幕。

上午10点：八个组的精彩表演结束，场内一片热烈的掌声。

上午10点20分：随着神秘信封的出现，奖项花落各家。即使有遗憾，每个人都为自己的努力绽开一个big smile。

“Thank you for being with us.” 这句话真该对每一个人说。

Under The Sea——初二、初三Drama Night幕后的故事

一群身穿黄色的螃蟹出现在杭外体育馆的舞台上，挥舞着硕大的黄黄的钳子，迈着笨拙的脚步，引来了台下观众们的一阵阵欢呼。没错，这就是本届外语节Drama Night初二、初三展示给全校师生的节目The Little Mermaid。不仅仅是这些螃蟹，我们的节目还有众多亮点。尤其是由初三（3）班张晨曦同学反串的女巫乌苏拉，在一夜之间成为全校同学议论的焦点。还有初三（6）班郑柯宏本色出演的萌萌的Sebastian，初三（8）班俞爽演绎的小比目鱼，女巫身边邪恶与妩媚的小妖，初三（6）班的单晨和杨轶，都给观众们留下了深刻的印象。

台上的倾情演出，台下的无私奉献。大家台上身着锦衣华服，在台下却付出了许多的汗水和时间。不只是这些让人铭记的主角们，更有可能只是露了脸的小配角，甚至是幕后的后勤人员，都默默地为这场演出做出了最大的努力。

所有演员和舞美牺牲了中午休息时间来排练，放学后也没得休息。放学后为了一个动作和神情的把握的练习，时常有来不及去食堂吃晚饭的事情发生，有时甚至来不及完成当天的作业。

与演员相比，笔者认为，道具组同学付出的辛苦有过之而无不及。

小到头饰大到幕布，每件出现在舞台上的装饰都凝结了初二、初三同学的心血。即使天气不热，可是一整个中午和下午趴在地上画幕布做道具也是件十分辛苦的工作。笔者曾有几次心血来潮和负责幕布的同学说好一起去画，跪在地上没动几笔就硌得膝盖生疼。有了这样的亲身体验，对于几乎放弃了所有休息的时间来工作的道具组的同学，笔者心中的敬意油然而生。

在看了Drama Night后，外教Char笑着说：“I think the funniest things are the crabs.”在“螃蟹们”取得巨大成功的同时，很多人对他们的“蟹壳”和“蟹爪”也产生了极大的兴趣。因此，笔者采访了该道具组的一位同学。这位不愿透露姓名的同学说：“为了制作这些道具，我们发动了几乎半个班的同学，牺牲了一个个背课文的中午，无数节自修课，甚至晚自修也在做道具。从制作第一只‘蟹壳’第一对‘蟹爪’开始，经过了无数次修改、加固、定型、上色、修补，到最后的登台亮相，我们前后花了两个多星期的时间。这些道具凝聚了我们的汗水。最后表演时，当我们听到‘螃蟹们’出场，台下热烈的掌声时，我觉得我们付出的一切都是值得的。”

艰辛，似乎成了这次活动准备过程的代名词。从一开始的资金紧张，大家筹教辅出售，到演出前一天演员们的衣服仍在不断更新、改善。有些困难不是简简单单就可以解决的，时靠大家集思广益、齐心协力一齐渡过的。

相信经过了这次的工作，所有道具组的同学们对于“合作”应有了更深的理解。

同样为这出戏剧立下莫大功劳的还有服装组的同学们。有位同学向笔者透露，服装组的同学在周末时都在街上忙碌搜寻演员们的服饰。笔者还了解到，由于同学们精益求精的精神，直到演出前夕还在对主演的服装进行不断修改。由于物流原因，服装所需的材料在演出前两天才到。服装组的同学们在最后两天加班加点的工作。衣服上的装饰由手工一针一线缝制，工程量极大，服装组在各班募集志愿者。许多热心的同学积极响应，牺牲晚自修时间来帮忙缝制演出服。在此，笔者谨代表全体剧组成员对服装组和热心的同学表示感谢。

当然，我们也不会忘记为这出戏剧吸引了更多关注的宣传组。尽管只是后期工作，但宣传组同样完成得非常用心。从发布在人人上动画场景和实景拍摄交汇的宣传片，到校园各处带有海底气息的海报，再到演出当晚金光闪烁间的中英字幕，哪怕是不经意的小细节也能让我们眼前一亮。在此也对每一位参与宣传工作的同学表示感谢。

在电脑前通宵修改影像图片，凌晨修改翻译台词，为一段半分钟的舞蹈付出无数中午的宝贵时间，在描画幕布是把膝盖在冰冷的地上跪得发酸，修补每一个自制的螃蟹壳，空着肚子练习哪怕是一句两句的对白，在亮片流苏之间穿针引线，在追光灯后揣摩每一次灯光变化的效果，录音室里反复调试制作效果，舞台上分秒必争地布置背景……有辛劳，有焦虑，有误会，有争执，但当我们的成果在那个晚上展现在全校的眼前时，所有成员的付出连缀成这个流光溢彩的梦幻海底世界，这个属于我们的世界。

一个多月的付出，我们最终获得了肯定。在此感谢所有为这次活动付出时间精力的同学和老师们，正是你们的努力，点亮了这个属于我们的童话世界！

你的音乐我的梦——记2012外语节初三年级音乐剧表演

5月25日上午，经过前期精彩的班级角逐选拔和大半个月的紧张排练准备，初三年级的同学在报告厅一楼举行了以“We Are The World”为主题的音乐剧表演。

8班第一个出场，讲述了在一个夏令营里的关于友谊、青春和音乐的故事。5班的音乐剧“Go On Counting”题材新颖，结尾更是出人意料。3班则以大家熟知的小王子为素材上演了一出小王子和玫瑰花跨种族的情谊。6班的音乐剧讲述了一个班里男生和女生的故事，而他们的街舞表演也让大家深深地记住了这些出色的舞者。7班同学自编自导的“An Apple Dream”将生活和音乐剧联系在一起，讲述了iPhone5的出现而带来的一系列故事。还记得《恋爱通告》么？4班的编剧们就将这部电影改编成了音乐剧，让我们记住了这个剧中的大明星Mars。2班同学则演绎了百老汇的经典剧目《雨中曲》，那句“I am singing in the rain, just singing in the rain”深深地映在了大家的脑海中。

初中生涯的最后一次英语节，最后一次在舞台上展现自己的机会，每个班的同学都尽了最大的力。不论是道具、服装、唱歌、舞蹈甚至是表演部分我们都做到了最好！结局并不重要，重要的是我们乐在其中，我们为自己的初中生涯画上了圆满的句号！

各班同学的感想：

What is the musical? According to my knowledge, musical means brilliant music, exciting dancing and wonderful performances. On May 25, our Junior 3 students had a happy morning of musicals.

To begin with, eight hosts had a dance. After the dance, audience was very excited and eager to see the seven musicals.

While each class was giving its musical, audience seemed to be very excited and enjoyable. Class 8 told us a story about how some teenagers achieved their music dreams. Audience appreciated of their performance very much. Class 3 showed us another ending of The Little Prince and it gave most of us a surprise. The next one was class 6 with their original story We Have Our Own Youth. Many students were really impressed by their wonderful songs and dance. The students from Class 7 acted out the story of an apple. It was really interesting, wasn’t it? Have you known that ten is the biggest number in the world? Well, it was the story Class 5 told us. Students from Class 4 had an original story as well, and their performance was truly funny. The last musical was an old story about some actors and actresses in Hollywood which was called Singing in the Rain. Do you want to know more about it? Well, just ask the students from Class 2. They are all willing to tell you.

Then, it was the time for awards. The result seemed not to be very important to students. The most exciting thing was that the best male leading role and the best female leading role would act out part of Titanic！

This year’s activities ended happily and we are all looking forward to next year’s English festival.（Class 2_Ella金珠玛）

Thanks to all the students in Class 3. All our efforts together made our musical so successful.

To be honest, rehearsing a musical is not as easy as we expected. Not only choosing songs but making dances by our own are all big challenges for Junior 3 students. Besides, everyone had own things to do so it was hard to find an appropriate time to rehearse. However, we finally made it Thank you all.

To put it another way, this musical is sort of a graduation performance for us. Three years fly away and the graduation of our Junior is close at hand. This kind of teamwork has become less and less. So everyone in the group is making every effort to make this musical as well as they can. It is so touching when I see some of the members in our group coming to rehearse without lunch and practicing their songs times by times in stead of playing basketball. Thank you all.

Last but not least, we want to express our appreciation to our English teacher, Clare and Grace. Thanks to them, our musical had a great improvement; thanks to them, our life had more laughter in these years; thanks to them, we learnt how to be a better student. Thank you all.

There are so many people to be thanked to, we're now just like the prince in our musical in the end, enjoying every moment with our flower——all the class members in class 3. Thanks 3, thank you all!（Class 3_Leslie张政）

Now, I’m back. I’m back to open my second life. The second life, a world which is created by yourself, a world which is filled with our dreams.

As for this musical, The Second Life, it’s also our dreams.14 boys and girls, together made this dream. We practiced and practiced, in order to create a small world that belonged to us. Now the dream comes true. Although there are mistakes during our musical, it shows our hard work. Whether the musical is good or not, it is a gift for us.

During the time when we wrote the play and practiced the play, we learned a lot. A good musical is depends on every member but not only the leader. Teamwork is the most important thing, everyone should love the musical deep inside and do their best to act out the play. Believing in everyone is also important. Don’t always doubt teammates. Be confident and believe that you can do better. Just like the saying, Hope for the best and practice for the worst.

After last night’s great dramas, we Junior 3 students were eager to show our own musicals on May 25th. There were 7 well-prepared musicals performed, one from each class. The stories included encouraging, trying to make dreams come true, happiness and sadness. We class five’s was quite different. The story was about a knight who looked for verities stubbornly although there was obstacle like the Bishop. Finally the knight knew the secret virtues with the help of an old scholar. The performance was good and we all enjoyed that morning.（Class 5_ Betty麻海玥）

May 25th, Junior Three students had their musical performances. In this activity, Class 6 showed a musical of “We Have Our Own Youth”. They showed their funny school life during the performance. A boy showed a magic but girls thought that was too silly. So boys decided to play tricks on the girls. Some time later, a boy sang a song loudly when it was self-study time, and the teacher got so annoyed that he called the boy to come to his office. When the boy returned to the classroom, girls laughed at him. Because of these things, the relationship between girls and boys got so terrible but the Singing and Dancing competition gave them a chance. In the end, they gave a wonderful performance and got the championship.

Class 6 students performed very well and gained good comments. They got the awards of “the best original story” and “the funniest story”.

As the last activity in junior high school’s life, students in class6 all practiced hardly and gave themselves valuable memories. Even they will be in different classes in Senior high school, they will never forget this activity and the happiness and arguments it brought them. As their musical’s theme We have our own youth, they have their own memory.（Class 6_Cindy蔡雨晗）

It was the last English Festival that we had in junior high school. All of us tried our best to get well-prepared for the final show.

Because of the musical, every member of our team had to get up very early and have breakfast on the way to the classroom. Girls had to make the stage property even at mid-night and boys could not play basketball, table tennis or any thing else in their spare time. However, none of us complained about these. Though we have had argument with each other and we also have complained of getting up before 6”00 and spending the self-study classes to practice.

We all wanted to do our best, we have to say that our musical turned out to be very successful and far better than we expected. We enjoyed ourselves dancing the funny dance and bringing the whole grade laughter and joy.

We believe it will be a wonderful memory for all the seveners, and whatever the result is, we are the best!（Class 7_Vicky黄沈懿）

It’s proper to say we did a good job this time. We deserve the Award of Singing and Dancing. All the members of the group should be praised because of our wonderful performance. The most important thing is that all the members should say “Thank you” to the directors, Vanessa and Laura. They did almost everything for the group. They produced the MV and montage the recorded sound. We appreciate what they did. And of course all the actors and actresses did a good job. All of us practiced singing, dancing and acting over and over again, especially Alex. He was not good at singing but finally he made it. We had a hard time entering the stage of the grade. But we didn’t let the classmates down. Everybody was clapping hands and celebrating when our group was announced to have the rewards. Of course there’s still something that we need to improve.
