The reading of all good books is like a conversation with the finest men of past centuries.

Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility为代表的作品主题多为青年男女爱情与婚姻,能让我们学到坚韧、理智、自尊自爱的美好品质。

正如主持人在尾声所说,“It’s the end of the book reports, but it’s not the end of reading.” 所以,坚持阅读吧,朋友!Let us continue reading in order to learn more!

两节课的展示活动很快结束了,但正如主持人Cindy所说 “It’s the end of the book reports, but it’s not the end of reading.” Let’s go further on the way of reading!

Books are man’s best friend. With a good book, we can have a conversation in mind with the greatest people in the world. That is exactly the aim of the Book Recommendation Show of Junior Three held on the afternoon of February 21st.

Four hosts and hostesses from different classes Cindy, Nona, Barry and Peter highlighted the whole activity to perfection as if pins ran through pearls. Fourteen students selected from seven classes recommended the books they read to us. In general, students tended to come into contact with original versions of English classics. From Harry Potter to The Little Prince, from Charles Dickens to Charlotte Brontë, each student had a distinct perception to share. For instance, Lois from 6A gave vivid accounts of The Journey to the Center of Earth, a story of exploration, bravery and knowledge, whereas Rex from 5B showed great interests in Fabre’s The Record About Insects. Scarlet (5A), Angela (2A), and Betty (4B), however, must have a crush on Jane Austen, for they all recommended her most popular classics, Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice.

Even if the activity did not last long, all of us have gained more than the time wasted. The Book Recommendation Show surely captured students’ passion for reading English books and also encouraged us to learn from good examples. With reading, we will sure take a massive leap in English learning!

Everyone has his or her own interest, so when we gather each individual’s together, it can add up to a great treasure which everyone can learn from. Biography, science fiction, poems, the various types of books from the Book Recommendation Show gave us a chance to explore the fascinating world of literature while enjoying the beauty of English language itself.

Different from imitating a speech, we need to create our own language to recommend books. By describing the story and introducing authors, you can imagine yourself being in the book, traveling underground with Jules Verne, or living with the author, visiting the English countryside with Jane Austen. However, it is more challenging for us to convey our understanding of the books and to share our thoughts. Everyone, though, tried their best and enjoyed recommending the books they had read during the winter vacation. Through our recommendation, you can get a glimpse of our great effort and enthusiasm in English learning.

Not only the inspirations from the books, but also the communication made Book Recommendation Show a great activity of English learning. We’re having fun with English!
