5月15日，2016年全国“希望之星”英语风采大赛浙江省决赛在杭举行。我校参赛同学凭借扎实的功底和出色的发挥，取得了优异成绩。

高一1班俞可心同学、高二2班的周语嫣同学、高一2班的施卜艾同学分列浙江省第二、第三和第四名，同获亚军，并晋级全国决赛预选赛。高二4班张宇琦同学获得季军。

向以上同学表示祝贺，望他们再接再厉，在6月中旬的全国总决赛上再创佳绩。同时，也向获奖选手的辅导老师陆玉仙、何冬兰、李力表示祝贺！

参赛同学感言：

希望之星对于我而言并不很陌生，然而这次比赛却让我又有了新的体会和感受。其实赛前我比较困惑，总感觉一分钟实在太短，什么东西都讲不好，直到陆玉仙老师认真地教导我如何将一篇短的演讲稿写得有逻辑、有感染力，我才明白比赛的意义。

虽说是浙江省的半决赛和总决赛，但是我还是抱着试一试、玩一玩的心态去对待的，毕竟还有很多很厉害的高二、高三学长学姐，放松心态但积极备战，我觉得极其重要。其实，我认为这次比赛我可以做得更好，还有更多的地方需要努力，需要改进，继续向更高的目标进发。

感谢陆老师，感谢陪我去参赛的爸爸妈妈，感谢我的同学以及一同参赛的Zoe，感谢所有教过我的英语老师，感谢所有支持我鼓励我的家人朋友和老师，感谢可爱的杭外。

在读小学的时候，发现自己害怕在人群前说话或是展现自己，当站在许许多多陌生面孔之前，那种手心冒汗脸颊通红又讲不出话的感觉真让人难受。可幸亏我本身还是一个热爱挑战和新事物的人，在学考之前鼓起勇气的我决定给“枯燥”的生活加点乐趣，如果可以的话解决一下“胆小”这个问题也挺好。结果比赛越比越坦然，因为无论是辩题或是评委提问都在平常的英语学习中有所涉及。我深深地为自己身为一位杭外人而感到骄傲，比完就立马觉着自己的心态和思辨能力升华了。所以，如果你想做一个勇敢、快乐、美好的人，就伸出手抓住那些机会来改变自己吧！

On May 14th, I encountered 73 contestants from all around Zhejiang Province，who gathered in Hangzhou for Star of Outlook English Speaking Competition. Many of them were very experienced and well-prepared, but surprisingly, I made it to No.4. What a great honor for me!

Through this unforgettable two days’ experience, I found that Star of Outlook is never just about English speaking skills, but also it is a stage to speak out unique thoughts. Once you get the chance to speak, you have to keep the language flowing and use ways of interactions like gestures, eye-contacts and different tones to touch both the judges and the audience. More importantly, the contestants should have the ability to think in English and to organize their answers logically as soon as possible. It is very demanding in a limited amount of time and sometimes I felt that language has become the barrier of expressing myself.

In addition, a broad vision is essential for quick-reaction. I did not do well in the second round of question answering when I was asked “What do you think is the most important social problem”. I began with “Well, it’s a tricky question for me because…” followed with an experience. However, this way of starting my speech took up much of my time and was lack of logical thinking.

What kept me motivated and aggressive for two days’ long run was the belief that I have the ability to change and be better, which I believe is important for every one of us.

Finally, I would like to express my thanks to all my English teachers and special gratitude to my current English teacher, Ms Lu, who has contributed great ideas to my logical way of thinking and designs in my prepared speech.

虽然感觉希望之星更像一个比较偏向于英语才艺展示的比赛，才艺渣的我还是义无反顾地参加了……从最开始对评委提问束手无策，到最后能够应对自如，这个比赛带给我的除了最后的结果之外，也有在过程中的成长。感谢组委会，感谢杭外！
