Featuring emphasis on foreign language teaching, HFLS boasts academic curriculums designed to encourage communication, inquiry, intellectual achievement and independent thinking. Students are also encouraged to participate in various extracurricular programs to develop their athletic and artistic potential.
Compulsory curriculum
For junior school: Chinese, mathematics, English, science (including physics, biology and chemistry), citizenship, history, social studies, music, art, information-tech, mental health education and physical education.
For senior school: all of the above plus design technology, volunteering service and research study projects.
Selective curriculum
Student development programs include: model United Nations, parliamentary debate, speech training, drama, a math talent training course, and a readers’ club.
Campus theme celebrations include: the Foreign language festival, Culture Festival, Science Fair, Art Festival and Sports Meeting.
Student societies
Individuality and team spirit are both well valued at HFLS. We encourage students to found their own clubs and societies based on their interest and talents. More than 30 different student societies have greatly enriched students’ daily life and have brought a lively atmosphere to the campus. |
