5月16日上午，我校2016年外文文化节开幕。

开幕式以广播讲话的形式进行，教务处副主任李力作主旨演讲。在讲话中，李老师围绕本届外文节主题“我的路，我做主”（the Road I Take），分享了自己的经历与感悟。高三大预班同学亦紧扣主题，朗诵了经典诗篇“The Road Not Taken”（未选择的路），并表达了他们对选择、对责任乃至对人生的思考与态度。

本届外文节持续一周时间，除传统的戏剧之夜、演讲比赛、模联活动及各年级的展示外，还将举办微电影拍摄、藏头诗创作等活动，旨在浓厚氛围，培养兴趣，增强同学们外语学习的内驱力和行动力。

附1：主旨演讲稿

Dear teachers and students,

I feel honored to stand here and give the opening speech for the Foreign Language and culture festival since this is the initial one on our new campus. The theme of the festival is "the Road I Take" and I'd like to share my understanding and experience with you.

Apart from the traditional activities like school-scale drama night and various shows for each grade, we launched an acrostic poetry composing competition this time. So what's your interpretation of HFLS respectively? In my view, "H" stands for honest, which is one of the most important traits of a person. "F" means friendly, an essential quality in interpersonal communication. "L" is lively, and it's the positive attitude and passion towards life and "S" represents self-confident, the belief and trust in ourselves. This week, different activities are waiting for you to organize and to participate in. Developing students' ability and foster their virtues by activities is the road our school chose.

A week ago, I accompanied a group of eight students on a trip to Beijing, taking part in the Beijing Model United Nations, whose theme is "meet the world, meet the future". Delegations from high schools and universities across China attended the event. We went there by train and we stayed in China Foreign Affairs University for three days. Every time I go to Beijing, I have a deeper impression on the capital. I experienced the convenience that High-speed rail and technology brought us, I observed the confidence and vigor of Chinese youth in the conference and I got to know the distinctive education concept of a top university in China. China is embracing the world and meeting the challenges and that is the road our country takes.

About fourteen years ago, a slow train, winding its way for nearly twenty hours, carried me and my dream to this city and this school. It was then on 146 Xuyuan Road, one year later we moved to 299 Liuhe Road and now 309. The changed is the numbers and locations, but the unchanged is the spirit of Hangwai and its people. That is what our school motto suggests, "tolerant and open-minded, rigorous and studious". I pride myself on teaching here, with so many outstanding teachers and talented students around, who always give me the pressure, motivation and courage to teach. To be a teacher was a dream when I was your age, that's the road I took and I'm still on the way.

That is the story of mine, what stories are you going to tell in the future and which road are you going to take? We are looking forward to your answers and interpretations, but most importantly, your actions. Thank you!

亲爱的老师、同学们：

能站在这里为外文节开幕式致辞我感到非常荣幸，因为这是在新校园举行的第一届外文节。本次外文节的主题是“我的路，我做主”，在这里我想和大家分享一点我的理解与经历。

本次外文节除了一些传统的项目，如全校的戏剧晚会和各年级的展示活动之外，我们还举办了一次英文藏头诗创作比赛。你们对HFLS这四个字母所代表的含义是怎么理解的呢？在我看来，H代表着诚实，它是一个人最重要的美德之一；F代表友好，它是人际交流中最重要的品质。L是活泼，是对生活乐观的态度和激情。S代表自信，是对自己能力的相信。这个星期有很多的活动等着你们去组织、去参与。通过活动发展学生的能力、培养学生的品德是我们学校所选择的路。

一周前，我带八个同学到北京参加模联活动，其主题是“拥抱世界，拥抱未来”。来自全国中学和大学的代表团参加了这次会议。我们乘火车到达北京，在外交学院学习交流了三天。每次到北京，我对它都会有更深的了解；我体验着高铁和技术带给我们的便利，我在会场上看到了中国青年的自信与活力，我与中国顶尖大学有了亲密的接触，了解了其有特色的办学理念。中国正走向世界，迎接挑战，而这是我们国家选择的道路。

大概十四年前，一趟足足开了二十多个小时的火车把我带到了这个城市，这个学校，同时也带来了我的梦想。彼时学校在学院路146号，两年之后搬到了留和路299号，而如今是309号。改变的是几个数字与地址，而不变的是杭外以及杭外人的精神。就如杭外校训所说——宽容大气，严谨笃学。能在杭外教书，我深感自豪，因为这里有那么多优秀的老师与有天赋的学生，是他们给我压力，给我动力，给我教学的勇气。当我还是你们年纪的时候，我的梦想就是当一名老师，这是我选择的路，而我还在这条路上。

这是我的故事，若干年后，你们将会怎么讲述你的故事？你们会做出怎样的选择？我们等待你的答案，等待你的诠释，而最重要的是要看你的行动。谢谢大家！
