5月27日下午，初三年级“校友杯”英语演讲比赛在二号楼一楼报告厅拉开帷幕。全年级的同学济济一堂，准备迎接一场语言与智慧的洗礼。

参赛的八名选手分别是许薇、鲍馨仪、曾子乐、詹宇欣、胡涛展、蒋云翀、房绍仪和刘嘉许。他们围绕本次演讲主题“Walking a mile in someone else’s shoes”进行了多个角度的探讨。

睿智的光芒在娓娓道来的英语中不断穿梭。“共情”与“理解”高频出现在选手们的演讲中，它们存在于对内心的探索与矛盾的和解，闪光在与他人的沟通和逐步了解，也因社会发展及知识的不断结晶被赋予属于未来的深远意义。同学们体会到其前提是懂得，而指向是尝试的勇气。

外籍老师Kristina对于各参赛者的演讲予以肯定，并向他们提问。选手们都借助问题对演讲进行了有益补充，也同样促使现场的同学们进一步思考。

最终，凭借优异的笔试及出众的演讲，来自初三4班的蒋云翀和初三6班的鲍馨仪摘得2022年“校友杯”冠军奖杯。

演讲比赛的帷幕已经落下，然而语言学习的路程才刚刚开始。路漫漫其修远兮，吾将上下而求索。Victory won’t come to me unless I go to it.

参赛选手感言

Last Friday, I delivered my speech in the 2022 HFLS Alumni Cup English Speech Contest. It was such a great honour for me to take part in this speech contest. It also paid off my hard work in English learning in the past three years. I talked about the generation gap in the title of “Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes”. I cherished my opportunity to share my opinions with my dear fellow students. I got to meet other contestants and made friends. It was an unforgettable experience. I specially want to express my gratitude to my English teacher Ms. Fang who supported me with great care and patience.  

初三（2）班 刘嘉许

首先我还是很高兴拥有参加这次比赛的资格。这是对我初中三年英语学习的肯定。从头到尾我怀着紧张忐忑又兴奋的心情参加了一轮笔试一轮演讲。准备演讲的那段时间情绪崩溃，用了非常偏的角度思考题目所以一直担心把握不准主题。还好一路有父母和同学的支持，才最终定稿并在一周内完成整个过程。也特别感谢Ms. Li的指导与关心。上台的3分钟演讲和1分钟的问答真的就像梦一场。结束鞠躬致谢的时候满心雀跃，the whole universe is lifted off my heart. 尽力做到最好就没有遗憾，也收获了宝贵经验。再接再厉，高中再战！

初三（3）班 许薇

对我而言，比赛的一大意义就是在过程中不断发现自己的问题并提高自己的水平。举个例子，写稿子就是将词汇和语法运用在实际当中并改善它们的过程，演讲就是提升了自己心理承受能力或者发音。个人觉得收获颇丰，也认识了非常有实力的选手们，看见了自己的不足然后可以臻于更完美。最后很感谢大家的支持，也感谢年级给了我这个机会。

初三（4）班 房绍仪

首先参加这次比赛对我来说就已经是go beyond the limits，因为这是我第一次在重要场合演讲。考虑到这个因素，我认为如果将比赛当作一次尝试，此次的结果尚令我满意。除此之外，它让我对演讲中的一些问题有了更深的了解，如语速控制不够，即兴能力不强等。我还了解到了别人的表现，以一个听众的视角对优秀的演讲有了更多理解。总之，我认为这次比赛对我各个方面的收获还是很大的。

To Alumini Cup:

Hello. So nice to meet you! My attitude to you has shifted from admiration to fear to missing as I grow up. Well…actually, I was really scared by you when I was first informed that I was selected to be a candidate. And I did think I would be extremely nervous when I was on the stage. Because that was the first time I presented myself in front of other classmates. But the moment I started talking and heard my voice amplified through the microphone, I felt a sense of unprecedented relaxation. Maybe that’s the magic power of English affected on me. Everyone told me that I was always confident when I was speaking English. After this experience, I found they were right!

Anyway, thank you very much! And thanks to the nice and precious experience, I decide to work hard and try to appear in the Zhou Enlai Speech Contest in Senior time!

初三（4）班 詹宇欣

Firstly, I’m very honored to have the chance to participate in the Alumni-Cup. As a language that is used worldwide, English helps us express our ideas on a larger stage, and speech is the way we make our voice heard. In the process of preparing for the speech, I have learned a lot about what “walking a mile in someone else’s shoes” truly means. However, I still need to improve my ability to response without preparation. Anyway, this is a precious experience for me!

初三（4）班 蒋云翀

For me, the Alumni Cup speech contest was undoubtedly an unforgettable experience. I would rather call it a friendly match than a rivalry. The players naturally appeared confident on stage and successfully delivered the speech. The whole process of the competition was tense and orderly, and I saw a lot of excellent players through the competition, who were worthy of me to take them as an example and learn from them. I think the audience also enjoyed the competition. The best part was that I got to show myself and make new friends. Win or lose doesn't really matter. (and the whole grade now recognizes me) I saw joy and a rigorous attitude to study in every one of us. This is what I believe an HFLSer should be. I believe we all learned something from the campaign. I am glad that I participated in the competition and I am proud to be part of it.

初三（5）班 胡涛展

初二的时候看学长学姐都在那边比校友杯，但摸不清这是哪里冒出来的演讲比赛，直到这个学期被告知有资格才搞懂赛程，比赛的经验又不足，所以一开始是有点蒙的，笔试前更是紧张得很。但到了准备演讲的时候就开始对自己有了自信，觉得这真是一种独一无二而因此极其珍贵的体验。站上演讲台后，听到大六班各位给我加油，并且随着演讲一点点推进，看到自己预设的笑点都戳中了，便开始慢慢放飞自我。总的说来，这次比赛让我对自己的演讲风格更加自信，因为我感觉到了：作为演讲者，将自己的思考传递给每一位观众，从而激发他们思维的火花，这本就是一件幸福的事。若在过程中，双方都enjoy更是如此。
